3 Days Jungle Everest Viewpoint Camping and Homestay

Day 1: NK Everest Camping Adventure

Day 1 is all about getting up to the top of NK Everest. It's the highest viewpoint around Nongkhiaw, so if you want the ultimate camping spot, this is it. The trail is roughly 6 kilometers, and it usually takes us around 4-5 hours to hike to the summit. Keep an eye out – if we're lucky, we might spot some monkeys or at least hear them chattering in the mountains. We're talking about an altitude of 1200 meters (that's about 3937 feet). Once we're up there, get ready to soak in some incredible sunset and sunrise views, plus the river winding below.

Day 2: Boat Trip, Waterfall Fun & MuangNgoi Exploration

Day 2 kicks off with breakfast cooked local-style, enjoyed while looking at the morning clouds. After that, we'll hike back down 3 hours the mountain and hop on a boat heading up the Nam Ou River – it's the second largest in Laos! After about 40 minutes, we'll jump off and trek to Tad Mok waterfall, a walk of about an hour. You can take a swim in the jungle pool before we hike back to the boat. Then, we're continuing upriver to check out a historic cave (time permitting), explore the town of MuangNgoi, and then hop back on the boat towards Sobchaem village. This village is famous for its weaving – almost every family there has weaving looms. It's a really relaxed place to stay overnight in a homestay, so you can recharge for the jungle trek in the morning.

Day 3: Houidoon Jungle Trek & Kayak

After breakfast, it's time for a trek! The trail is pretty well covered – about 70% of it will be shaded. We'll hike past limestone mountains, local farmland, and different types of forest. The trek will be approximately four hours before we arrive at the riverbank. Next, we'll take a boat back to the beach where your kayaks are waiting. You will then grab a paddle and kayak back to Nongkhiaw about 50mins.
